Oh great, I'm going to catch it now. But there has been request of help and I'll help.

They're only 15" Motegi MR7, Gunmetal Grey. (I only use this pair for traveling. I'm ordering a set of 17" for around town)

But anywhere, here's the link. I'm having trouble getting the pic on maxima.org.

http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/532475/2

You'll have to scroll down a little,

Hope it helps.

Guys,

Don't slam me-- I don't know much about wheels and tires, but was wondering... My stock rims on my 93 Maxima GXE are 15" I think.

I notice it looks like I have a lot of tire fatness and the wheels look sort of small.

Do a lot of you guys put a larger wheel on like 17" and use a thinner tire? That's what it looks like, and I think that looks cool. My question is, does any 17" wheel fit ok pretty much? Also, does this make the car handle any better? Does it give better or worse mileage? Are there any pros/cons of changing from a 15" to a 17" wheel and using a thinner tire vs. the stock setup besides cosmetically looking better?

Thanks!

For starters, you have to use a thinner sidewall tire to keep you speedo correct. If you took a tap measure and measured across the whole tire, both yours and a 17", you'd notice the measurement would come out pretty close.

17"s do make your handling better. (less sidewall flex in a turn) As for gas mileage, maybe if you got a really light rim. But that has to be one light *** rim though. And if it's that light, it may not be that strong.

The only con. You HAVE TO DODGE POT HOLES. With that thinner tire you have less tire between the ground and the rim. Which means you kinda feel more of the road. And if you manage to get a good wack a pot hole or curb. Say bye bye to your rim, cause it's ****ed.

another question also

what is the correct size for 17's and for 18's? in order for the spedo to be correct and good ride?

225/45/18?

i found 17"x8 with a 5-120 Bolt Pattern" Offset 40 mm Mille Miglia Evo 5 with new NEW Kumho Ecsta Supra 712: 225/45/17 for 900 + 150 shipping. is this a good deal? http://i17.ebayimg.com/01/i/02/08/eb/74_1.JPG

or 18"x8" Offset 25 mm. (All four) with 5x100 bolt pattern Moda/Radius R6 wheels with Kumho Ecsta Supra 712: 225/40/18 for 1100 +150 shipping.

Here are what my rims look like:

They aren't on the car yet, but I should be able to get pics up next week sometime.

Oh, and to answer your question, bigger wheels are what is called "plus sizing."

You need to get thinner sidewalls on the tire to make up for the taller rim.

so instead of 205/65/15 tire, you would go to a 215/55/16 (+1) or a 225/45/17 (+2). Those would put your total diameter close to the same, even though the rimss are taller. In the wheel and tire section of the forums, there is a tire calculator in the stickies, BTW.

Our bolt pattern is 5x114.3 (5x4.5")

Moved. It's clear you need to learn the basics about wheel/tire plus sizing. So read the posts in here.

I've had it done for almost a few years I think and never had one problem. I have been pulled over for random stuff, but they have never said anything about them. I think they are equivalent to taillight covers here in Washington which correct me if I'm wrong are legal here.
