I just got myself some new tires for my maxima - 215/55/16 BFGoorich Traction A/T. I wanted to get some michelin's MXV4 plus but I changed my mind after I did some research on tirerack.com. It seemed michelins are expensive and do not have much satisfactory reviews.

Finally I came up with two candidates - Potenza RE920 and the BFG traction.

I picked the BFG because
1.it is cheaper than the Potenzas - only 88 bucks per tire
2.It has better reviews from both tirerack and customers on tirerack

so what replacement tires do you guys have and what makes you pick them?

well I HAD kumho 712's... I got Toyo t1s ( 235/40/18).

I changed because I wanted a bada$$ tire on there. I picked the t1s cause a local member SWORE by them. And he was correct. They were awesome tires. In my tire size, they were $210 installed a tire.

So I went to Dunlop FM901's for $140 a tire installed, while not as good, still better than the 712's. I choose those after some talking with another local member who had those.

I am going with Kumho Ecsta MX next. Several supra owners have them and like them, so I'll try them @ $140 a tire installed

I had 225-50-16 Sumitomo HTR+, which served me well, lasted a long time, and were cheap. Now they have caught on a bit and are more expensive, but still a good tire. I am gettign Falken Ziex Ze512 this week for the I30. I can let you know more then.
