Hey guys I need some help. I need some cheap tires. I wanted to know if the Hankook Radial K106 or the Hankook Ventus HRII H405 are any good. Any input would help. Also anything about the reputation of the company. I have heard of them and seen their comercials but I have never acutally considered buying them untill I saw their price. 73 for the first ones and 76 for the second ones. Here are the links of the two:

Goin with cheap tires is going to hurt you in the long run - you'll buy chepo tires - than spend money to have them put on and than you'll be unhappy with them , than you'll end up spending more money. Cheap tires have always issues with them (balancing/vibration). Than you will be in search for tires again because you have bought cheap ones.
When I bought my car with michelins on - handling wise she was a beast , than i went with chepo Kumho712 and handling went to ****, later on i've put Falken 512 but i took forever to get them balanced. Later i bought rims with tires on (Aurora K103) made by Hankook. once again chepo tires ( local tire shop sells them for 79.99 in 225/45R17 size)
Yesterday I finally got my senses back and went out and bought 2 Michelin pilot sport PS2(225/45R-17) $425 installed at local tire place. I had them put up front and car dirveslike its on rails - literally. I'm saving $$$ for 2 more.
save your money and get good tires - you always get what you pay for.
I'm not saying that Michelins are best , but from now on thats what i will always drive on.
Plus it feels good to ride on same tires as OE equipment on vehicles like:BMW Alpina Z8, Chrysler Crossfire, McLaren SLR and Porsche GT2 & GT3 models.
Nick.

Thanks guys, but acutally I do not care about handling because this is not for my max, my max has AVON ZZ-3's on them but this is for my dodge caravan
I just got 17x6.5's from a 2001 caravan and I want to get some tires for the wheels. I guess the only way to find out is to ask somebody who actually has them.

I have Hankook ventus HR2 405's and have no problem with noise vibration or harshness. I ride a 2002 Maxima SE Automatic. I recentely wrote a thread on these tires and have high praise for them. Sticky, good in the rain and dirt cheap. $69 each at edgeracing in 225/50/17. If you want an excellent tire spend $100 or more but if you're a daily driver like me and want to save a little money and still have a comfortable ride go with the Hankooks!

The hankooks are cheap and they perform that way too. Stop being cheap any buy you some good tires, i use to think like you. Cheap tires make a well performing Maxima drive and handle like crap.I just dumped my khumo's for Nitto 450's and the ride is ultra smooth now. No noise,no vibration, etc.

There's one thing about being cheap and another about saving some money. As much as I'd like to be able to spend $200/tire on my car - it just isn't going to happen.
Why? My car is a lease and I have about 18 months left to go including two winters. The stock Craptenzas, as everyone knows, suck big time and mine are about toast with under 20k miles on the odo.
When people post about how well a tire performs - I wish they would compare it to the OEM tires instead of ones twice the price. Of course a $200 tire is going to grip/handle better than a lesser model.
I'm just hoping that most ANYTHING is an improvement over the RE92 POS.
So - anyone w/ the Hankook HRII H405 tires that like them better than the stockers? The Falken ZE512 seems decent, but the issues w/ the vibrations at 60-70mph is scaring me off.
Thanks.........

I dunno...I'd be really hesitant to put crap like Hankook/Nankang/Kumho on my car. Not saying I wouldn't do it on beater wheels, but I'd think twice.
I've had BFG g-Force T/A KDW's, and they were great. Nitto 555's were almost as good. Curent Dunlop SP Sport 9000's are the best I've had yet. Pricey, but worth it...
