Paint the stock wheels?
#2
Look for 30585's sig, he did it. I recently bought Z32 TT wheels and tires. They had brake dust and rubber embeded into the metal, degreaser and a brush coudln't get that stuff off. So I'm sanding them down to get it all off. I'm using a 3M superfine sanding sponge I got from Discount Auto. Worked like a charm in the one wheel I did so far. Sorry no pix yet but you may want to give it a try. The sponge is only about $3 I think?

There is a how-to in the 4th gen forum on painting wheels.
It IS possible, i have seen a few member's car's wheel that have been painted. I plan on doing it to my car this summer. The gold and silver wheel thing isnt working. You can also polish the wheels after stipping them for a semi-chrome effect.
