Tires with Strong Side Walls?

i was planning on buying some Falken Ziex ZE-512 or Kumho Ecsta 711 or Kumho Ecsta ASX since they fit my budget but im reading they have soft sidewalls. i just got new 17x7 rims and need something to protect the 1 inch lip on the rims.

any suggestions??? thanks.
