Anyone running Falken GRB FK 451 tire

Hey guys, spring has just arrived and I need new shoes for my 2k1 max, I can get Falken GRB FK 451 tire for 190$ CDN installed and balanced. I looked at the spec and those tire look very decent plus they have a nice thread and rim protector. Does anyone here is running those, I'm looking at 235-45-17. Any feed back would be greatly appreciate otherwise I guess I'll be the test monkey and give you some feed back.

Cheers

I've been using the 451's for a looong time, and like them enough that i'm on my 3rd set. Great traction, excellent grip, and predictable handling with progressive breakaway.
What size wheels are you putting them on?

I'm running 17" wheel 7.5 x 17

As for the noise versus stock, I never run the stock crapenza, I prefer to have noise but good grip.

How do these tires wear? Did you squeeze many miles from them?

Apparently they last around 30 000 miles. With my last Ecsta Supra it lasted 2 seasons.

They usually last me 10-15k miles. Mine are a bit wider than what most people use, so I get a considerable amount of road noise with the windows open. Sometime on certain streets it sounds like I have a flat tire, but it's just the rubber conforming to the street surface. However, with the windows closed, it's pretty quite, and noise free on the freeway.

I'm weary from looking at and considering tires. I'm going to need a set of 235/40/18's as I will be putting on 18" wheels to replace my stock 16" SE's. I wish there was one tire that everyone agreed on to make my life and decision easier. It's so interesting to see how ten guys might absolutely love a certain tire, but then another 1 or 2 or more come along saying how lousy the tires are. I do not race, but I drive a little on the spirited side at times. I like to step on it especially when I'm alone. I need a fairly quiet tire that gives excellent handling and grip in wet or dry. I'm not concerned much about hard ride because with 40's I'll be hard pressed to find a soft one. I also have to consider the lack of bankroll.

Treadwear is 280 traction AA

Still to this date one of the best traction tires we offer, even put down faster laps than the old azenis 215 at the mazda rev it up. With traction being AA its performs well in wet weather also. Overall a good product one of the older tires we carry but still can outperform most. Good luck with youre choice...

I pick-up my wheel and tires today, the ride is better than the previous 235-40-17 I'm now running 235-45-17 which I think is a better size for our car. The tire has a very nice tread wear and not noisy.

Thank again for your input.
