stuck with 5 tire choices - please advice
My eyes are sore from reading tire reviews on Tirerack.com and searching .org
for past 3 days !!!!
I need new 215/55R16 tires for my Se wheels , and since I am moving to Hawaii this August i don't need to worry about snow.
I want 4 things from my tire:
-smooth ride on the expressway
-good thread life (40k atleast)
-once balanced it should stay that way
-less than $450 out the door
I'm driving to South Bend Indiana this weekend to purchase, and have my new tires installed by Tirerack. I have narrowed it down to 5 tires , I am leaning towards Yoko Avid V4S , but Bridgestone Potenza RE950 and G009 are tempting too.
My choices and $$$ installed:
Yokohama Avid V4S (60K warranty, V rated ) $442 Installed
smooth and comfy, nice ride over highway expansion joints, softer side tire
Bridgestone Potenza RE950 (40K warranty, H rated) $447 Installed after $75 mail in coupon.
nice balance of responsivnes, hundreads of good reviews by 4th Gen Maximas
Bridgestone Potenza G009 (50K warranty, H rated) $ 396 Installed after $50 mail in coupon
also responsive but slighlty harsher
Avon Tech M550 ( No warranty, W rated) $418 Installed
new tires on market , lack of long time reviews, Summer only tire
Avon Tech M500 ( No warranty, W rated) $422 Installed
Ultra High Performance all season , but once again new tire , remainds how Falken 512 was blessed by crowds , but the tire turned out to be royal PITA.
Please advice on which one should i go with , and save comments on
Sumitomos, BFGoodirch, Dunlops, Toyos, etc I have already reviewed those and they do not match my needs
thanks
Nick.

Tirerack does not carry H rated Yokohama Avid H4S in 215/55R16
they just have them in V rating

I am a Bridgestone fan but.....with the money cap u have established, I definitely agree w/the post above....I had Avid H's in my wife's prior car and loved them -and they went forever....
Now, for a few dollars more (remember that movie??) there are the Turanza LS-Vs or LS-H's.....now THAT's a tire and a half. I have the LSVs in my Max and they are definitely the best tires I've ever had. Right now, they haveeither a 50 ot 100 buck rebate, so.....they could get close to the Yoko price -and they are a great tire.
I guess you're gonna have to go back to Tirerack one more time.....
