Anybody ever buy rims off of ebay?

Just wondering about people's experience buying wheels from some of these ebay sellers. The deals are sweet, but I'm sceptical. I'm thinking about picking up a set of HP Racing R5s in 1 of the auctions. I normally prefer to buy from a local place, but I can't seem to get a decent deal from anywhere in NYC. Is ebay too good to be true?

Nice rims zoolyfe. I'm thinking of getting those exact wheels for my Max. What size tires are you running?

I got my rims off ebay, but they're stock Maxima wheels, not aftermarket. So they are good quality and came as stated from the reputable seller I bought them from. Unless the seller is auctioning a name-brand set of rims, I wouldn't trust 'em. Remember- you get what you pay for.

Did you try the www.bigwheelz.com yet? They sponsor the .org here. I know they sell HP's.

I bought mine off of ebay. I got a real good deal. I think the seller was from New York. I thought the shipping was rather low. When I went to UPS to pick up my rims, each rim was in the original box and they were taped by 2's. The lady at UPS said there is no way each pack (2 rim boxes) were 15lbs. Lol. She got the one up but I had to pick the other one up for her. I thought that was funny...

Just screen the seller the same way you would with anything else on Ebay...

I bought mine from ebay, but it was a private seller. I got a screaming deal, but I don't think the guy really cared about the money, since he was trading his car in.

It was also a cash for wheels in person deal, with no shipping. MrGone went up there and got them for me.

Thanx guyz. The ebay seller has a 99.3% feedback rating and has over 700 sales. I think I'll be OK - I'm gonna give it a shot and keep my fingers crossed. I have a mastercard that I keep a really low credit limit on and use it just for online purchases since you never know how people protect your credit card#.

As for Bigwheelz.com - everything on their website refers to Canadian - I didn't think they could ship to me in NYC (but then again, how could they be a sponsor here if they didn't deal with the US - duh!) for a decent price but I'll give them call.

Buyer Beware! Hope you have good luck. I would go through Ebay's guaranteed pay system with paypal if you can.
