Offset ???'s. Advice Please.

What's the possibility that a 19"x7.5" wheel with a +45 offset will fit on a 5th gen Max? Do any of you wheel guru's forsee any rubbing issues? It seems like I always get myself into this. I ran into the same problem when I picked up my set of G35C's. I had some rubbing issues because of the rear wheel drive offset (+30). I'm currently on Tein S-Tech's, but will probably be getting coilovers shortly. Now I may be going the other way. I just ran into a guy selling a set of 19" RH C2's ( 3piece ones) for fairly cheap. If they'll fit with no problems, then I may consider picking them up.

they should fit just fine although I would push them out a bit.

When you say "push them out," are you refering to using wheel spacers? Are there any down falls to using spacers? I just don't want to damage anything. What exactly is the optimum offset for a 5th gen Max?

well with 19x7.5, I would run 30-35 offset.

You can use 5mm spacers but anything bigger, you'll need longer studs.

If you go with a 5mm spacer, is there any chance of it damaging anything? I can't really see how, but just curious. Thanks in advance.

Nothing that I know of. I've been using 5mm spacer for a year or two and no problem yet.

What is the offset on the wheels that you're using with the 5mm spacers? So, let's say they're originally a +45, does that now make it a +40 if you use the spacers?

I've used w/ my 18x8.5 rims with 42mm offset and 18x7.5 with 40mm offset.

Yes using 5mm spacers on a 45mm offset would give you a 40mm offset

What width tire are you running? I don't think all 235/35-19 tires will fit 7.5" wide. 245/35-19 is cautioned.

Honestly, the best option would be to find wheels at least 8" wide, and then use an offset between 35-42mm.
There's no point in fitting the car around some wheels, just get wheels that fit in the first place. Spacers should be used as a last resort, in case you order wheels before consulting someone knowledgeable in that area, or when you already have a set of wheels and suspension or brake components are changed and no longer have clearance.

What size? 18x8.5? You can go 245/40/18s and offset between 35-40

Thought I would ride the wave of offset questions:

Am I asking for trouble with a 19x8.5 with 20mm offset and 245/35-19's? I can get a great deal on Alessio F1's intended for G35/350Z but want to put them on a '02 Max. My car's not lowered yet but I'm leaning toward Maxspeed springs. What do you guys think?

You will definitely rub with 20mm offset. They will stick out too far
