you'll probably want a 15-20mm spacer. Make sure you get an H&R hubcentric set with extended lugs, by the way.

newer style 17" g35

Hi I was wondering if anyone has put the 17 inch g35 wheels such as whats installed on this car: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2006-...QQcmdZViewItem
I know that the 03-04 17s are quite popular (what irish has) but I haven't seen any maximas with the newer style 17's on. They're basically like the 18's but are in 17inch. Anyone have these? I've read in this sticky quite a bit and searched so pardon me if I missed it. Any pictures?

I've seen one .orger with the 17's... He had them for sale months ago. They fit fine, but I have no info on the width or offset. Of course, I prefer the 18's...

yeah I like the looks of the 18's better also, but I wondered if I would be sacrificing ride quality with larger wheels with less sidewall. Thats why I wanted to stick to something 17 inch. I think they look good but i'm wondereing how close they just look like GLE wheels?

they should fit fine. I believe that they are 17x7 though with a 40-42 offset, so aside from looks they aren't an upgrade in width or stance, as opposed to:

the 18's (8" wide with 30 offset) or the coupe 17's (stagger 7.5"f 8"r with 30/33 offset), both of which allow wider tires and a wider stance due to offset.

If you're just going for looks and want to re-use the tires off your OEM 17's, the wheels in the link should work well though.

I know it's been discussed before, but has anybody tried the new replica's on ebay from O E Wheels? They have 2 styles, "hypersilver" (which I believe is as close to OEM as possible), and "anthracite." Both are now 18" x 8". I've thought about picking up a set of these, as my are fairly scratched and could use a fresh start! I've checked out their rep on other forums and people seem to be fairly satisfied with their quality...

if you do the 350z Track wheels 8" in the front and 8.5" in the rear wont this cause issues w/ rotations and wear? Is it possible to utlize 4 of the front wheels of this car all the way around to be able to rotate the tires and keep life up on the tires? Just wanna make sure the fronts will fit as well (on the rear)?

You can use 4 fronts or 4 rears. I have the staggered setup and I guess I could rotate them F to R if i wanted to.

Hey, I just got the 18inch coupe wheels refinished and put on my 6th gen. Looks a bit smaill, would've preferred 19's. Got them refinished at Wheels America, paint looks really similar to the original.

I just got the G35c wheels for my car and unfortunately the 245's in the back rub with people or over deep bumps, the car has more road noise, and the handling gets weird over bumps at times (strange wiggly feeling). Maybe i'm just **** here, but I have feeling it was a bad choice, or maybe I just need new tires 235-40-18???? Also, the 225's in the front really look funny like it has too much rim for the tire. How do the 235's look? ride?

read the thread. 235/40/18 is the correct size to not rub.....245/40/18 might also work, but will be close. The 245/45/18 that come with the G are too large.

235/40/18 in sig, by the way.

235-40-18 question.

Irish...Thank you.
But another thing I noticed is that the 225-45's on the front gives it a too much rim for tire look. In other words, the tires seem to narrow for the rim. The 245-45's look ok and full in the back, Just curious on how the 235-40's would look before I go and spend any more money. If they end up looking like the fronts(225-45) right now, I wouldn't get them. I in need of a nice uniform look all the way around. This staggered look just doesn't flow on maxima's. I've seen the side view on yours and others, but it's really hard to tell, I'd like to see a side close up view...Anyone??

235/40 are about the same width as the rim, as you can see here.

Thanks. From the pics, they look good. Has anyone tried 235 - 45 - 18 on a 2000 body style Maxima w/g35 wheels??

they'll likely rub....my winter tires are the same diameter and they rub in the rear.

i was going to ask the same question are they as good as the factory ones look wise, cuz i'm having trouble finding a set of 18" coupe wheels for a good price

^ I think the photoshopped pic of his car makes them look like yours, irish... The "hypersilver" color looks 100x better...

Please, PLEASE, someone comment on the 18x8 replicas on ebay from the OEM seller... I posted those a month ago and got no response at all.

I think the lack of response means nobody has them

I wouldn't see any major problem with them....I had an Ebay "OEM replacement" 5th gen wheel that was identical to my actual OEM wheels in every respect.

Yeah, I think the quality should be about the same... I'll probably sell my scuffed-up OEM 18's sometime in the next year and replace them with the replicas for a fresh start. Damn college parking, especially parallel parking has killed them... Even better, I've hit more curbs on my Max than I have with my last car.

Go to the succeeding pages (3 in particular), he has actual photos of it there, along with a short take on what he thought about the rims.

Cliffs. The quality is good, but there was an issue with one of them not fitting correctly.

first paint (silver spray paint + clearcoat) on the right.
repaint (Wurth + clearcoat + better prep) on the left

But these are replicas in the OEM size (18x8 versus 18x7.5) from a different seller (supposedly). I already knew about the 18x7.5 copies with the yellow center caps...

They're from OE Wheels. They are 18x8 with the silver center caps. Although, if you ask me, they may be sold as OE, but i don't really think they are made by the same manufacturer.

True. I wouldn't be surprised if someone else other than Infiniti's wheel mfg made these wheels. But you can't beat the price for them brand new... I think I'll bite, eventually.

Extra noise with g35 wheels?

I recently installed some slightly used 17" g35 coupe wheels that I purchased off of g35driver and I seem to hear a lot more road noise than before. My wheels I had on before were 16" GXE wheels with 215 60 16 tires. The new ones are OE G35 size: 235 50 17 rear and 225 50 17 front. They're also OE Potenzas. Is it going to be a given that with wider tires and also the fact that they are Potenzas, that I will have a noiser ride?

1. the size has little/nothing to do with it
2. the tire could be unevenly worn or just worn down, in which case it could get louder.
3. some tires simply are louder than others
4. check tire pressures to make sure they are correct
5. PLEASE get rid of the RE92s as soon as you can. They are downright dangerous in the rain and one of the worst "all-season" tires ever made.
