I've read through the whole thread and not many people mention about the riding quality with them 18's. So I was just wondering how do 18" ride after lowered compare with 16-17" stockies. I remember when I had GLE suspension with 350z (245/45/18) and it rode like **** and rubbed a lot.

^ The reason you rubbed is the 245/45's... That size is 99% guaranteed to rub on a 5/5.5 gen. Your ride will be rougher with 18's versus 16's or 17's. I first had 245/45's in the rear and rubbed half the time with nobody in the car and 90% with an extra person. I went from 215/55/16 to 225/45/18 and the ride is definitely rougher, but not so bad you will really hate it. It's a noticeable difference, as I went from the 18's back to the 16's on Sunday for autox and haven't put the 18's back on (new suspension hopefully this weekend).

Yea.. after reading 18pages of 245 will rub, Imma look for a set w/o tires so I can get some 235 or will rolling fenders work?

Why not 245/40/18?

That size can still rub... Some people are running it with no problems, though. It's just not as likely to rub as 245/45/18.

I think you can fit 245's if you roll the fenders... Please, someone confirm that.

Hey Irish, what size tire did you run on the front G35c 6spokes wheels? I tried using the offset calculator and it seems the 17x7.5 with 225/45/17 and 30mm offset would stick out beyond the fender.
And bump for my fender rolling question too.

I think I can now answer my own question since I have my fenders rolled. I still rub a bit with 17x8 (235/50/17) with 33mm offset. With that said... 18x8 (245/45/18) with 30mm offset should still rub with fenders rolled.

that's because 245/45/18 is not even close to being the correct size. On the 18s use 235/40/18 or 245/40/18

On 17x8 you should be using 235/45/17....

You're rubbing because your tires are too "tall"...

For example, you can see in the original post in this thread that I have both the 18's and the 17s.....and neither of them rubs anyplace. And my fenders are not rolled.

Okie pie , but I'm just trying to say that 245 will stick out too much that it will rub on rolled fenders. Some people might not rub due to being dropped on different suspension and other variables. Nonetheless, you're right on my sidewall part.

2004 18" 350Z Wheels on '04 Maxima???

Are any modifications needed to put a 18" 2004 350Z wheel on a 2004 Maxima? Are they identical in style (look the same)? Wheel is 18x8 (stamped as REAR) and +35 offset.

TIA,

Kevin

Oops, yes, they are +30 not +35. Hopefully, someone with an 04+ will say yes for sure. Nissan said the hub is different...

Thanks!

what do you guys think of these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Infin...QQcmdZViewItem

they are oem 19's from an 2006 infiniti m45. Would these work with a 2004 maxima? What size tires would I need for these?

ok so the tire size is 245/40-19. If I got the infiniti m45 rims and I was thinking about getting the Sumitomo HTR Z III (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....nSpeedRating=V)

would this fit with no problem on my 2004 maxima? Would I be messing anything up in any way by doing this? Sorry, I do not know much about wheels/tires.

I've been reading this huge sticky for a few days now. Great info. I just upgraded to a 2003 SE. I'll be using my original 17s for winters but I'm investigating new wheels & tires for the spring. Probably jump to 18s using 235/40/18 rubber.

While checking out prices I keep finding this web-site for OEM wheels. Is there anyone out there with any experience with them? Heard anything?

Never heard of them, so no opinions here. I'm more of the G 18's kind of man, so ebay or the G forums still better deals.

The ebay 7-spoke 18x8x30mm wheels as sold by OE Wheel Distributors (seller moore9911) work just fine as I believe these are made by the same company that made the factory rims. I have a set of the hyper-silver that ran around $610 with shipping. I only had issues with one wheel that had a burr that needed removing in the hub section which was taken care of quickly. These rims came with factory Infiniti center caps and a set of caps without emblems.

From a tire standpoint, I would suggest a 235-40-18 for the 5th-gen maxima as a 245-40-18 will rub via the rear passenger fender lip (with a drop). Even with a light roll it will still rub (tho not to the point of causing a tire problem).
