you won't have any problems, except your speedo will be off a hair.
245/40/18 = 0.5% fast.
when your speedo says 60mph, you will actually be going 59.7

245/45/18 = 3.2% slow.
when your speedo says 60mph, you will actually be going 61.9

Depending on your drop, you may rub in the back. That's the same size tire on stock G35's with the same width. Also depends on the offset too. I'd say go with the 235/40's.

I have the g35c's w/ the 245/45/18 in the rear. They fill out the fender very well and look great on the rim, however there is a very slight rub in the rear where the bumper, quarter panel are mounted together. If you keep the air pressure down around 30-32 psi the rub is very slight so long as you're aware of it. You could also trim the flange before the screw that holds the two pieces together. This is all with no drop currently in the rear. I'd recommend going with a 235/45 or 235/40 on (18x8) rims. 235/45 is the closest to stock, however they make very few tires in this size.

I just mounted 235/45s on G35 18X8s with no problems or issues.

What is the offset of the wheels that these are on? Are they G35 wheels? Any rubbing?

offset i believe is 38. hmm, they don't quite exactly fit perfectly in the back cuz the hubcentric cap prevented my rim from fully going on, so matt popped those out. wheels look really tucked in though. those are RPM 505, still like my Axis Hiro's better. no rubbing issues.
