Good PSI for 17's

What would be the ideal pressure for a set of 17's on my 98? Tires are Fuzion ZRi and the size is 225-45-17. I am under the max psi marked on the tire, but up over the manufacturer recommended psi. I would not think the manufacturer recommended would apply to aftermarket plus size wheels.

Thanks.

Don't worry about the manufacturer psi.. go by what it says on the tire.

Also, if it's a little lower than max, the ride will be smoother.. if it's at max (don't go over) you'll have better gas mileage.

235/45R17 ZRis on 01 OEM SE wheels. I run 37-38 psi. It's a little harsh, but I want/like a fast steering response and stable cornering.

p.s Better get used to LOUD noise and tramming on every road imperfection.
