Input Specific to Snows
Searched and found lots of performance tire comparisons, but I am looking for comments specific to snow tires. I will be running either Nokian WHR (all season), Nokian RSi's (snow specific) or Nokian H4's (studded). I ran the Nokian WRH last 3 seasons. Traction was "OK", handling was good, and the tires were quiet, but I found tire life poor (almost worn out after 2 winters). I hear the H4 studded are "great" for traction, but a softer sidewall construction reduces handling and crisp lane changes when the pavement is clear and dry.
Any input from those running one of these tires is much appreciated. If you have other suggestions than Nokians and have had good luck, please advise as well.
Thanks All

They are not studded, the noise level is ok (hey they are snows...). But, as I said before, they perform really, really well. They saved my a$$ several times.

Those NRW's are the tires the WRH replaced. I was not impressed by the tread life of the WRH and the traction was quite good but could be better. It is also classified by Nokian as an all season radial, not specifically a snow tire. I just ordered the hakk 4 studded ($217 ea mounted & balanced where I go). They will be mounted in 2 weeks. I read that these give up some handling, but can not be beat for traction in snow and espeacially on the black ice that forms here in NH about every time snow first hits the pavement. I will post a report on noise and handling on dry roads, then after our first snow event I will post another report.
