Evo 5 fans Come and get 'em

Good News For all the Evo-5 Fans...........Tire Rack is now selling a wheel called Sport Edition KV5 with a 35mm offset perfect for the maxima which is a Replica of the Evo-5. I was also dissapointed because I thought they had these wheels at different websites in which I was ready to purchase. They all told me the same thing that the company that made these wheels went out of business. I knew Tire Rack had also stop selling these wheels for the same reason so I decided to scan over their wheels to choose another kind and Boom.........hit the jackpot. I spoke to a sale represenative and he told that these wheels were a hot seller item and decided to make replicas. I already placed my order and the first batch is coming in from overseas to their warehouse on March 13. Sizes available are 17x8 and 18x8 with 35mm offset. Pass out the Info.....Happy birthday

I've always loved these wheels, wanted them so bad back when i used to own a Malibu too. Does anyone know if Sport Edition bought the dies/molds from Millie Miglia? Is the quality of these comprable to the Evo 5's? One thing I know for sure, they're a hell of a lot cheaper than the MM's were.

Honestly to me SSR comps and FN01R-Cs look better than EVO5s. I think I see more beauty in weight than form. Those wheels look like anchors to me.

Ideal wheels for my car are SSR GT2s...

14.6lbs in 17" and 15.9 in 18".

Where did you find the GT2s in a size that fits our cars? According to TireRack they either don't have any that fit or it's just not listed as a match in their database. Also, where'd you get the 15.9lbs figure from?

I heard that TireRack was a pain in the a** to order wheels from if you were trying to order as per your sizing requirements and not just telling them what vehicle you own. This was years ago that I heard this, anyone know if they've relaxed a little?

Bottom line, do your own leg work. Tire rack told me my wheels wouldn't fit, I said ok, send them anyway. Thy just add a disclaimer to the final sale.

Main thing, offset & width. Use the sticky with the offset calculator with the information with your current installed wheel, and start taking measurements

I have been doing a lot of research on wheels lately. I spent the first month of my time on the .org not being able to reply to any posts, so I just kept reading and reading. I've read just about every sticky there is. My question was directed at MorpehusZero and more specifically his interactions with TireRack. I respect the fact that you didn't jump on the opportunity to flame me hard just because I made a quick post, I've seen the wheel weight database, I've been all over TireRack's website and I know the 19" Comp's weigh 20 lbs so I was a little skeptical about the numbers listed for the GT2s.

On a personal note, just so you have a better idea of my character, I research as much as possible before I make any posts. I've learned that after seeing the reception some people get on the forum. I know my profile says I'm a newbie, but I promise, i'm not.

In the next few weeks or so, I'll be CAD modeling the 5.5 gen suspension, so there will be no doubt in my mind what wheels will fit. I will make all that info available to the .org so everyone else can benefit too.

Here's a link I found w/weight info. I don't think bolt pattern has an affect on weight.

Also, why are you not interested in my experience? I've bought 5 wheels and 4 tires in the past 6 months from them.

nice, thanks for the link. I didn't mean to imply i wasn't interested in your experience. I'm interested in everyone's experiences, that's why i'm on the .org and not just figuring everything out for myself. I was just wondering where morpheus got the 15.9 lb number since I saw on TireRack that the 19" comps were 20 lbs. I couldn't seem to put in the right vehicle to get the GT2s to come up as a match on TireRack and couldn't get to the specs page for the specific set of wheels. I went back and checked the wheelweights.net link again and saw the GT2s on there too. Please pardon my oversight and any confusion about my interest in anyone's experiences, esp. NmexMAX.

wow so they got rebadged and is now made in china. For 136 a piece is not too bad at all. Add some cheapo falken tires on these guys and you got a good summer setup.

23.5 lbs for an 18x8 is crazy. No thanks. That wheel had it's time.
