Tire Size and Driving Questions???

I just recently purchased some 19's chrome. Now they came with 225/35/19 I believe. I will verify that once I get off work.

Tires are to small for my comfort. I need tires with some cushion on them because I do alot of driving within Baltimore and DC and potholes are a plenty.

What dimensions of tires would give me a better ride and less worries of messing up rims.

Lastly after placing these rims/tires onto the max. I noticed that the gas pedal and steering wheel would shake around 59 and 69 miles per hour. It doesnt do it at any other time. It never did this on the stock alloys before. What may be the problem.

I don't know if you could go with a bigger size tire ( like 40 or 45 sidewall). How wide are the wheels? You could probably go with a 235/35 or 245/35. That would give you a little more meat on the sides. I run a 235/45 but I am running 17's.

As far as the gas pedal and the steering wheel shaking, I am having the same thing happen. It happened when I put on my wheels. I'm going this weekend to see if it is a bushing. At first I thought that it was because of the weight of the wheel and then I thought that I had an unbalanced tire, but it only happens around 55 to 65 mph.

yes that is almost exactly correct. let me know the outcome of yours. i drove it today and its around 59 and 69. i was thinking more of a 235/40. Would that possibly work?

1. the vibration is probably a balancing issue - the bigger the rim, the harder it is to balance correctly. I would suggest finding a shop that has a Hunter Road Force balancer (look it up on Hunter's site). It costs more to balance, but when done your wheels will be perfect.

2. As to the sidewall....er....well, that's the price you pay for getting 19s unfortunately. Maybe sell them and buy some 18s - even my 18s I only run a 40 series sidewall.....I run 235/40/18. 235/40/19 and you will almost certainly rub I would think...

Yeah, I was thinking that a 235 would rub on a 19 in wheel. He wanted more meat. If I were you I would go with an 17 or 18 instead.
