Ripping?
well I just recently rotated my tires, (they switched the fronts with the rears), I have bridgestones in the front and potenzas in the rear.. I just noticed on the sidewall of my front passenger side tire, its ripping, like a nice little chunk is peeling off.. is this bad? can it like pop or something while im driving or just let the ripped piece fall off and ill be fine? please let me know someone, I dont wanna learn the hard way. Thanks

To answer the original question. yes it's bad, yes it can 'pop' Yes you should have it replaced ASAP. If these are the originals that came on the car, I would be careful and replace them immediately.

well its all good because I just changed it at a used tire shop for $40 as you were right they wouldnt fix it because it was on the sidewall. BTW the goodyears I have are toranzas, but now since the tire swap, I have one toranza in the front where I sit, a toyo proxy in the passenger side, and potenzas in the rear, is this bad that theres an assortment of tires on my car and their not all the same LOL?

One side will have better traction under acceleration and braking than the other. Turning right might feel different from turning left. The effect probably won't be huge unless one of your tires is WAY more worn or is of a much lower performance class.

Abnormal tire wear is the first thing that a bad alignment causes.
What do you mean by "turn back to normal over time"? Once one tire starts wearing down prematurely, it will never be even with the other unless you specifically try to wear the other one out more quickly than normal.

Assuming your wheel bearings, tie rods, and suspension bushings are in good shape, then yes, getting an alignment will correct the uneven tire wear. One side will always be more worn than the other, but the rates at which they wear will be the same.
Unevenly worn tires may or may not affect things for you. It depends on the tires, where you drive, how you drive, and just how uneven the wear is.
