Rotating Proxes4 tires...Question...

I have a set of Proxes4 tires on my Spec. I have had them for about a year- close to 20K. They are wearing GREAT (knocks on wood), and I have rotated them once, front-to-back, at 10K.

Now I am about to change rims, so the tires will be dismounted. Should I swap them side-for-side? That would put them rolling/rotating in the same direction, but the former INNER edge will now be the OUTER edge, and vice versa.

Should I do it that way, or just keep moving them front to back?

I would just keep moving them front to back, as that's the recommended rotation pattern for FWD vehicles... But, what you're planning couldn't hurt either, as long as you don't have the tire mounted in the wrong direction of rotation. Here's an article from TireRack. Note, that rotation pattern only works on non-directional tires.

Pat,
I would do what you mentioned at first. Swap the sides on the new wheels - but make sure you keep the fronts with the fronts and rears with the rears.

I.e. make sure you mark the tires clearly for the tire guy so he doesn't screw it up!
