Okay I posted when I got my rx7 wheels awhile back and they came with 245/50/16's on there. here are those pictures to refresh yalls memory or whatev.

okay so I FINALLY got my 2nd set of rx7 wheels and went with some 245/45/16's which is obviously the smaller sidewall. the tires are good year gs-c eagles. They seem okay, they look fairly aggressive but I dont think they are going to solve my traction problems. i just got a really good deal on them. In fact, I get awful wheel hop with the new tires that I didnt get with the old ones. and yes i have poly filled motor mounts and control arms.
ANYWAY here's the pictures of the new wheels on the front with new tires. old tires on the rear with the old larger tires.

it sounds like a tiny difference in size but it is actually a pretty dramatic difference. The new set up is MUCH slimmer and shorter than the old one. I can see where all the bouncyness in the ride was coming from.

Yeah it is quite a difference, I did the same thing except I went the opposite way.
I might have to get me some FD wheels sometime... 17x9s just aren't worth the $ compared to saving for a bike, but if I could find some FDs for say, $300 or so it would be worth it.

lol.
i think you could easily get a set for 300. thats hwo much i got mine for. check rxyclub.com.
Personally I'm starting to wonder if 8 inches is impractical. 7 inch wide tires always bothered me so bad because they look so skinny and the traction sucks but I dont know how much better 8 inches is. Plus every high power/boosted maxima I see is on some skinny *** tires with thin sidewall.

and then i found out people were putting slicks on the 6 inch wide steelies..wtf..didnt even know that was possible
