1. will simple latex gloves protect my hands from the aircraft aluminum stripper stuff?

2. if i use a wire brush (the kind you attach to a dremel or drill motor) will this ruin the wheel in anyway on 350z track rims?

3. would it be better to use something softer to remove the paint?

4. some paint has chipped off around the edges from the previous paint job, as such, some of the interior paint where the tire goes has chipped off. Additionally, the rim is also painted the same god awful gold color in the inside of the rim as well. so i will have to remove almost 80% of the paint. is it ok to remove the paint on the inside of the wheel where the tire goes as well and just paint the entire wheel, or is this not necessary?

 

just use aircraft paint stripper. it will eat EVERYTHING to the bare aluminum. you wont have to worry about corners or edges not getting stripped. if you really want a legit strip and paint job, strip everything from the outside to the inside of the wheel. it's totally fine. that is the best and most effective way to remove paint/clearcoat on anything metal. ~3-4 cans of stripper will do the trick. ive used latex gloves and it protects just fine. if it does get on your skin just have a wet towel in reach to wipe it off. be sure that it doesnt get on the tire if there is a tire. use index cards to block it off. does the trick nicely. just like the skin, if it does contact the tire, be sure to wipe it off immediately with a wet towel.

once done stripping (about 3 minutes of fizzing), hose off all the stripping and wipe clean with soap and water. dry, then proceed with the primer and paint (for a good job) or just go straight to paint. just follow the FAQs ion the 4th gen stickies:

Theres no need for a brush, it would just turn into probably a hazard flinging the paint stripper everywhere. Just let the stripper soak and then rub/wipe off the paint after its sat.
