Falken FK-452

Thoughts? Opinions?
I do not want an all season tire because to me they are pointless. So i am looking at high performance tire.
If the Azenis rt-615 were made in the size i need i would get those but they do not come in a 245/35/19. The next alternative in my price range is the Fk-452. Anybody have them?

Drove an E46 with those tires, stiff sidewall, good dry and wet traction (not quite PS2 level) and quiet on the highway, best performance tire for the buck IMO.

As stated, good wet and dry traction. They are actually under-rated. Depending where you find them online, some don't recommend them as all seasons because they are closer to summer tires. To me the tires had a nice comfy ride, but the sidewalls were stiff enough to make them sporty.

just out of curiosity, why do you say all season tires are pointless in NYC where you experience all seasons?

perhaps he has a dedicated set of winter tires. A/S dont work well in heavy snowed areas like the new england area no matter how well the rating. its best to have two sets.

to the OP, great wet and dry traction all around. definitely one of the underrated tires as mentioned before. decently quiet as well.

No complaints here. Im on my second set. For winter i have my stock wheels with Hankook W409s. I bought the winter set in the summer, but we have yet to see any snow in the D.C. area.

I would guess that typical of Falken tires, the 452's would be pretty quiet and have decent grip in both rain and dry pavement.

To me all season tires are pointless because if it is winter, i have a set of winter tires. The rest of the seasons i run summer tires.
I decided to bite the bullet and i bought 4 tires shipped for $592. Will update when they come in and I mount them...

just like everyone else said they have good dry and wet traction and pretty good on thin ice...i just wanted to test and see what it would do so i went to a parking lot that had ice all during the winter season and they maintained good grip through the entire time...def. underrated.

How is the noise on these tires? I read some reviews and this appears to be the biggest complaint.

I still have this tire on my car right now and I think they are great. They had some noise when they were first mounted but they have settled down considerably and I have about 15,000 miles on mine. They are fantastic in the rain and I haven't had any traction problems yet and they still have plenty of tread. They are directional tires so they can only roll in one direction.

So don't purchase one for your spare. DUH!

I cant really say a whole lot about noise because mine are still brand new. However only time will tell.
^^^ that picture makes me glad i went with a 245/35/19 instead of the 245/40/19. The sidewall on that tire is huge...

Well wait until you hit that first big pothole then you can come back and tell me how glad you are.

I have 20x8.5 rims with 38 mm offset, will the 245/40/20 fit with rubbing? I planned to purchase the 245/35/20 until the remark above.
