Test fitted new wheels! - 4th Gen

So after this....http://forums.maxima.org/supercharge...ercharged.html

It was wheel/suspension time!

Just test fitted my new-used set of Volk CE28Ns! Couldnt afford a new set. It came with essentially new Federal 595s in 215/45-17, still had chalk? and nubs on them...

First set of aftermarket wheels really, so pretty excited myself.

Here are some pics of one test fitted...

Before anyone says anything, I do have a set of Koni's and H&Rs (& progress rear sway bar) to install to help quell that fender gap goin' on To fix the "inner gap" fastbrakes is making a kit for me.

The disappointing part was that the center caps from Volk wont work on the fronts because of the halfshaft, uh, stud is in the way. You can see the center cap on the floor. Does anyone know if any of the genuine Volk center caps would work?

P.S.
The wheels havent been cleaned yet, so forgive me. Once the BBK is in....

Uh...tire size is small. Should be at least 225/45 or better, 235/45.

Good luck with your plans.

You'll have to space the wheels out to get the caps on. I had to do the same with my Volks and was able to use the low center caps at that. I always wondered if the highs would fit without spacers.

Not a bad set up. I'm not sure if the gold on gold is really appealing though. And BTW, when you put on the wheels, make sure the rotation is correct unlike your pic or you'll go through those tires in a heartbeat.

I have the very same wheels and my center caps fit just fine. I have the paint code to paint those caps too. Dont know why they dont have bronze caps.

RE: Tire size, yeah I know. But they came with it as a set and I think I'll survive for now.

Bronze wasnt my first choice, I was planning on Gun Metal originally when I was pricing out for new wheels. Just when i gave up on getting Volks for a set of Gram Lights, these popped up on another forum I was cruising for cheap. Beggars can't be choosers.

I was thinking either to have them powdercoated (my family owns a powdercoating shop) or have the car painted to a Dark blue (there's a paint shop that owes us). I'm not a huge fan of Pebble beige so I might go the later route....thoughts?

I'm going to probably have to space the wheels out a bit for the BBK anyway, so hopefully it'll work out for the center caps.

It would look better with color matched ones, that was a smart idea.

I'm surprised your center caps worked. Mine are not even close...

Compare your widths/offsets. Maybe that has something to do with it.

I had the same issue as the OP with my 18x7.5" +40 GT-N's. I spaced out the fronts 20mm and that solved the issue. I then spaced out the rear 25mm to match.

EDIT: I looked at MAXC's car and it looks like he has the high caps while we have the lows. I'm not sure if that plays into it though.

Looks great! Love those rims. Post pics when everything is on and the car dropped. Should look good.

Digging the setup and I really think the Gold on Bronze is perfect! Just get it dropped.
