Wink "Badass"- My 2013 Maxima SV with Premium Package

My 2013 Maxima SV with Premium Package (Tech and Sports Package). I f*ckin love this car! It's fast, has a super tight suspension, an ease at high speeds, and not to mention... hot.

With 2 10's in the trunk and the Bose Speakers throughout, this baby is a killer when I'm bumpin' down the street.

Try and race me and I'll leave you in the dust.

Just upgraded my daughter's 2006 Burgundy Maxima to a 2012 Black Maxima. Not sure what package but it has tan leather with heated and cooled seats. It has nav with power rear shade, shift paddles, and panaroma sunroofs. It's a like new, low mile (still a little factory warranty left), one owner. It drives well and it's a big improvement over the 2006. I hope the transmission (CVT) is better than the 5-speed auto in the 2006. It crapped out around 100k in the 2006.

Just purchased a 2013 SV and I love it. She's a gorgeous car and I love the way it purs when I press the start button. It sucks that my model isn't equipped with satellite radio! Still using my plug in kit from my old '07 Maxima S.

I really wanted the sport model with the paddle shifters, rear spoiler and Bose audio package, but didn't find any in my area. I'll be adding the spoiler and a light tint in a few weeks.

Unhappy

I've had a 04, 09, 10.
I hate the poor gas mileage.
My 04 audio sounded better than my 09 & 10.
Love the aggressive and curvaceous shape.

The dealer marked all the scratches and dings that were to be fixed before I took delivery of the car.

I bought one, havent been here in a while after summer trouble with my 03 and the alternator died while driving stranding me and that was the last straw, dumped too much money into it and they put the alts in a terrible spot on the VQ35s so decided to cut my losses and junk it. Loved that car but had to move on, got a 2012 maxima SV in Sept 2015 at 45k miles and paid 18 for it. So far loving it, picks up very well and CVT is surprisingly smooth. Only gripe is I want to switch out my headlights for HIDs (got the kit months ago) but cant access the headlights. I find myself fairly competant mechanic wise but I hate this design. Looks like a bumper or wheel removal is necessary and Ive been procrastinating on it or looking for a place to install them because I dont want to break all the plastic undercovering like I ended up doing on my 03 which caused belts to squeal when it rained and snow and ice to build up around the tires in wheel well. They also sold it with a taped upper radiator hose which I discovered when I dropped in a K/N (from my 03, same size) and did a snorkel delete. Replaced that yesterday and did a first oil change recently which was relatively painless. Worried about CVT maintenence though, around 51k miles now and not sure if dealer ever flushed the tranny, would it be a good idea to have it done soon?

Yes. At least I would if I didn't know the maintenance history and driving style of previous owner. Also, you'll want to do a drain and fill as opposed to a flush; other members have reported problems and codes popping up after flushing transmission. There are numerous write-ups on this. Good luck.

Can you tell us what you liked in your Optima and don't like in your Maxima ?

As for me In my 13 max I don't like :

The location of the heated seat control
The heat coming from the seat cushion is cooler than the back.
no 2/3 folding seat.
no free navigation update.
No illumination for cup holder, memory seat control.
Gaz pedal tension a little bit too soft.
No shut off control for the middle air vent.

Hi Everyone,

I'm new here with my purchase of a 2013 SV which is loaded with all but the Sports package. I owned a Maxima back in 87, loved it then love it now! Btw, I'm coming out of a dieselgate 2012 Jetta Sportswagen TDI.

2010 Maxima SV w/ Sport Package

I bought a 2010 maxima 3.5SV about 2+ years ago. Only had 45k on it but whoever had it before me took horrible care of it. It was in and out of the shop what must've been 6 times in the first 6 months of ownership but a big part of that was the garage I took it to was consistently screwing me. I love it now as everything is fixed and I'm beginning my mod phase. I think my final purchase price was like $18.5k after taxes and fees. I have the sport package and the suspension is quite nice, not too stiff on long hauls but can really keep the car stable around the corners. I recently put some spacers on and it's even better now. The CVT with paddle shifters is fun, but I wish it had a 6spd manual. The only other downside is the FWD, I'd prefer AWD considering I live in MA and the weather is about as predictable as a teenager's emotional stability.

Any mods right out of the box?
Even though its a brand new car, how was the dealer with pricing since the auto industry is in the tank?

Throw up some pics!

Thanks guys,

Bought mine in 2009, sports package, now 8+ years and 75k miles, extremely happy with the car... it has started to show the age, but the aggressive look, the lines, IMHO it had no competitor back when I got it (and I looked at A4's, 3series, etc.) Remains to be a pleasure driving it and taking advantage of its capabilities.
mods: only tinting
tires: bridgestone potenza
price/dealer: in retrospect, pricing was not on discount when I got it, and dealer was not nice, but would not go back in time to pick something else.
Fun fact: I just got another offer (those crappy letters on the mail) saying they'll give me 10k for it... no thanks!!!!

I bought my 2014 Maxima SV Sport and Tech Package just about a year ago. I turned in my 2014 Altima SL lease (I'll never lease again) when I bought it. Quite honestly, there were some things I liked better about the Altima. It was quieter, for sure, and the way the dash and controls were set up were more user friendly. Things such as: the mode button being located on the dash, the location of the mirror controls, the location of the heat/cool control ****, and the hinged lid of the cupholders. I've always wanted a Maxima and I really like how mine looks. It's fairly unique and I haven't seen one exactly like mine anywhere. It's fun to drive, fast and responsive, and I also like the throaty sound. The navigation system is a bit awkward, too, if you ask me. Sometimes, I wish I had just bought a new 4x4 pickup....that is until I get in the Maxima and drive. lol

I just got my 2012 at an auction. It had a few bumps and bruises but otherwise it purrs and the inside was wonderful. Leather seats and everything. Took it to my favorite mechanic and had a safety check, brakes, two new tires to match the fronts, needed a control arm and a realignment. Had the windshield replaced and good as new. It's found a loving home. Got a great deal on it for $5000 and even with the repairs its under what it's worth. 76,000 miles.

What's up Maxima family!?!?!?! I've been driving Nissans before they were Nissan! They were Datsun to you youngins!! I've had Only Manual Maximas over the years. Saw a 2009 with 149k for $5250 parked in someone's yard. The owners says his daughter needs an SUV. I know it has the CVT. Heard so many horror stories about the CVT...UGH My question to the family is should I pass and not waste my time or look further into this. It looks to be in great shape inside and out. Thoughts?

I'm not a mechanic, but knock on wood, I haven't had any issues with the CVT. I've got just over 150,000 miles on it. Still lovin' it.
