not really because it doesn't sound loud at all, like for instance vtec. it's a very slight tone difference that you really have to listen for and if you're in your car you can't really hear it. i know i can't, but's mainly because of my exhaust. i had mine mess up because i wired in my vafc wrong and i didn't know till i hit the dyno at maxus, without it working i put down 178hp. at maxus i didn't know that was the problem so we just took the shaft out and then my car made almost 200. that is something that i don't recomend for the fact that you lose a lot of torque across the board with it out. i fixed my wiring and it works fine.
here listen to this. it's dyno run with it working.

I don't know about the 00VI but with my MEVI I could never hear the actual switchover, but when I got up above about 6000rpm I could tell a difference in the sound, though it was very subtle. I doubt most people could notice it, I had enough experience up there in the nether regions of the tach with all the racing I used to do that I became able to discern whether or not my MEVI had opened.

with you in it?
my wheels are by no means light when I had it weighed as I had my street wheels on...and my car is fully loaded as well, but should come in just under 3100lbs with me in it (no spare or jack or floormats, etc.)

I ran a 14.39 before I got the headers - so we are talking cattman y and cai, pilot sports, a great launch and a nice cold day. To get those times, you've got to be brutal on the clutch - slip it from 4-5k.
Prior to that Madmax2k beat me by one fricking one hundreth of a sec. 14.38. But I think I trapped higher. He could bust out 14.4s all day because he was better/more consistent at slipping the cluctch. He even had some good times after he blew his water pump apart speed shifting as we drove down the road next to each other . . .
I believe there was someone else on the site with similar times.
I haven't been to the track in a while, but last few times I went I consistently hit 14.5s.
I think with some tuning on my current setup I could do a bit better, but there just isn't much more there for the 2k-2k1 setup without FI. Although, I'm running the stock 17s so lighter wheels could pick me up a couple 10ths maybe.

The reason it is hard to tell is that most test it in 1st/2nd where the car stays above the changeover for a very small time. However, you can really tell you have a problem at the top of 4th - it just flattens out (ahem . . . or so I've heard). Now, try explaining that to the dealer as a basis for a new vias. They say

I had the udp when I did my best runs.
Not sure that a lightweight flywheel will translate into faster times - even though it equals better responsiveness on the street. The key to the best times is slipping the clutch and the lightweight doesn't give the same torque multiplier effect. I think several others indicated it hurt 1/4 mile times - as a result I didn't switch to it when I changed my clutch.
I'm not into weight reduction aside from taking the spare out of the trunk.
Has anyone shown gains from a larger TB?

sorry I know this is wrong area to post but you guys are acting like 5th gen is slow I had a 90' mustang with 350 hp after several thousand wasted I dumped it and decided to get maxima and its almost just as fast, off the line I can smoke most cars. I'll even take on your bigger clunkier (is that a word) maxima 'cause you got all that extra weight!

Let's see. I'm getting nitrous, 75 shots wet ZEX
I'm lighter
I got more bolt ons
And I'm running just as rich as you were.
...With tuning do you see 13.5 in the horizon?
