Just installed Ford Taurus cup holders

Well, I just got done installing some single din in dash cup holders where the ,now once was, factory equalizer use to be. It took about 2 hours because the factory screws in the sides of the brackets were still in there and were a ***** to get out. Had to use tons of WD-40 and tapping to finally get them unscrewed. After that I popped the hinges on the sides of the cup holder and snuggly and tightly pushed the cup holder unit in. Fit like a charm. Pics will be up soon to show you all. I wanted to show everyone pics now but Cardomain is being a goober right now. This mod was originally done on many 3rd gen maximas so I thought I would give it a try. It fits snug in there too. I paid 15 bucks from an org member who owned it but never got to install it. Great mod!

man, I wish I would have known about this mod when I had my car. I may do this to the car still because I hate the trim that came with the CD player install kit. That looks really nice. Is it strudy Q? How is it held in?

Well, its not held in with anything. No screws, nada. It was literally pushed in and with the brackets being where they are at I had to gently force it in there. The brackets hold it in so tight. Plus you cant screw it in. There were two metal tabs on each side of the holder itself that kept me from getting it in there good. I popped them off with a flat head screw driver and it went in finally. I love it. Used it already too. Works great had bottled water in there and went over some speed bumps didnt move nor did the cup holder set itself. It didnt move or anything its a very snug fit.

Not off hand. Would need to take my headunit out and go one by one with the Pioneer headunit manual to see what went where.

Is it just the cup holder or the coin tray as well?

I actually just bought a '87 5MT, taking delivery on Friday, so I should be around in these forums too.
