You'd take a $200 grocery getter over a $1.2m exotic that would probably get you more women and be way more fun than you can imagine?
I didn't say whether they were restored or not. Just that there are quite a few around. Still driving, even.
I don't belong here, why...? Because I have profound respect for classic cars and exotics that are way more valuable than our Maxima?
I'd restore a classic Mustang or Camaro before I'd restore a classic Maxima.
Boss 429 > 2nd gen Maxima.
By the way, an '88 Crown Vic would smear an '88 Maxima all over the road.
And the only reason you hate LS-1s is because they make your imports faster than they are with their stock engines.
As for oil burning in the 5th gen, it's not as common as you think.

If you mean transmission burn out, then your question is still irrelivant. I don't understand the validity of your question to the point I was trying to make...

I've had my share of domestic cars and I CHOSE to buy this 99 Maxima (and they had a cherry looking 90(or maybe 91) Camaro on their lot for the same price as the Maxima - mines a 4th Gen - and you know what, I made the right choice...for me.
Give me a Bugatti - I'd sell it and get a DR30 Skyline, and a few other choice Nissan cars and trucks.. and a house with a garage to put them in... and furnish it... and go out on the town a few times, and have money left over ...
Nissan by Choice.
Enjoy the Ride

i actually bought a ticket for a Lamborghini draw, valued at $89,000 IIRC. not many people enter at the mall so i figured why not, if i win it just sell it for $80k, buy a R32 GTR for $10,000, put $30,000 of work into it, and profit. bought the ticket mid 2009
saw the draw date after, January 2011. i thought it was 2010

At least she wears the pants in the relationship.
Actually, I saw a video somewhere of a Ford GT walking all over a Corvette ZR-1. And I'm pretty sure the ZR-1 and the Spec-V come pretty close stock.
I'd be curious to see how a GT would do up against a Spec-V.

R34 are crazy, R32 will always be my favorite but R34 GTR Spec V are just nuts. RB26 swapped S15 Spec R could hold its own too
this is one of my favorite Youtube vids, so many Skylines
and this one is really up there, R33 GTR going 315 km/h apparently the driver is the owner of Top Secret. i would KILL to be in that thing.

i my self like "hot roding" cars (in the scene faster cars on the cheap). i like the ls1 for it raw power and lightweight and i also like the jap v8s for the same reason.. but the both classes have there pros and cons... but it all depends on what the builder wants, i my self like balance. why have 800hp on a daily driver... i would swap a fuel injected Ls1 in my 77 810 datsun and enjoy it but.. i would do the swap for the following...
American v8 pros:1- cheap in price. 2- lots of power out the box. 3- can be converted to carb. 4- ezzy to find parts. 5- what more aftermarket parts. 6- ezzy to work on. 7- bunch of transmission choices. 8- lightweight (ls)
American v8 cons:1- not fuel saver. 2- low rev limit (i like a v8 that can go the 6500) 3- old tech. 4- lack of balance 5- low durability 6- heavy (if not ls) 7- 2 valves per cylinder
jap v8 pros: 1- good on fuel 2- durable 3- high rpm(up to 7-8000) 4- light 5-new tech 7- 4 o.v.h.c. 8- balanced(less vib.) 9- better engineers
jap v8 cons:1-expensive 2- less aftermarket 3- more intolerant 4- cant convert to carb. 5- to many sensors
feel free to ad mot to the list......
i wold like a high rpm v8 with good mid to high end torque, i dont need to much low end torque on a 3500 pound car. i found and think the reason people call American v8s slow it cuz of there trannies. they are not geared right for the power the mod v8 is making, that's why Honda's own them on take off cuz the Honda trans is a close gear trans.. ( my opinion just throwing it out there)
