Conversion: 1157 LED Tail light bulbs
Conversion: 1157 LED Tail light bulbs
Want to update the incandescents with LED bulbs on my '87 Maxima GXE. All good with markers, foglights, running lights, and headlights. However, the tail lights have a monitor that triggers a warning light if it "thinks" a filament in the bulb is out. The voltage on the 1157 LED's is low enough that it "thinks" that there is a bulb out in the back...any ideas for a workaround on this?
For anyone who pops in here and is wondering the same thing, you end up using a load resistor to make the system think that there is an incandescent bulb in there. I think the size will depend on the bulb used( ex. 5w, etc)
I did Led on my front headlight side marker and turn signal but exception to the taillight which regular bulb cuz it does have that light telling you bulb is out. so that why I didn't bother with taillight/brake light bulb
