i'm not really sure since mine do work 
but i'm guessing there should b a noticable lag in power in the lower band...i took my car to a foreign car mechanic b/c i didnt know what the sound was supposed to sound like (i have some lifter tick)and he told me i had no vtc tick...maybe u should do the same...good job
