Problem with 1st gear

When I rev the engine to 4,000 RPM from a stop and let go of the clutch pedal with the car in 1st the wheels just spin and make loud sqealing noises. Does anyone else have this problem? Could my axles be bad? Could the problem be that I removed that cylinder thing in the trunk?

possibly a clogged O-pipe or a blown gasket on your Vtec solenoid....thats what happens when you use Jeff's bubblegum gaskets!!

Have you replaced your spark plug fluid recently? That might be it?

Rev the engine til you cant go any higher, put it in 5th gear, drop the clutch. You might smell something burning from the engine compartment but don't worry, it's just a minor side effect. No more squeeling, problem fixed, pat yourself on the back.

your problem is that you're revving too low...needs 5000rpm.

Slightly off topic..
I used to have a problem with my clock fading in and out. So i went to an ASE certified mechanic (none better). He said when you see the clock fading in and out like that, most likely your timing chain is worn, so it won't be able to keep the time properly. Had that sucker replaced immediately.
Now when people ask me the time, I let them know and smile to myself knowing that they've been properly informed.

Your front wheels are too small and can't handle the torque. Replace with monster truck tires.

I have the same problem as well. I hopped into this Honduh Civic with shiney stuff and stickers and white rims and it didn't do it, even at 6500rpm. I need to find the source of this problem with my car.

i only have that problem when i drive with that lever on my right pulled up.

i think that lever is for fuel economy b/c my car doesn't feel as fast with it up. it's sbroken though b/c i get worse gas mileage.

uh.... ok

i wasn't sure if the guy was making a joke or not. if he wasn't you guys are just being a bunch of asses, it gets really tiring seeing people tear others apart like that. that's what my little brother does. he is in junior high. i'm pretty sure most of the people on here are a lot older than that.

Man I got the same exact problem, except when I do it, the car doesn't even move for a few seconds and smoke starts coming from the front of the car... it scares me! I've been trying to figure this one out for a while, I think I'll change my fuel filter, that might fix it. Anybody want to send me detailed step by step directions for that?
