Thermostat replacement??

Thermostat replacement??
I have SOHC 1993 Maxima.
I am planning to replace thermostat as it takes a long time for the
engine to reach the optimum temperature.
1. Can someone please point me to the thermostat replacement procedure
for SOHC.
2. Do I need to use the gasket to seal the thermostat housing? The
guys at courtsey nissan told me that I dont need a gasket for my
maxima as thermostat itself takes care of sealing the joint.
Thanks

And yes, that IS the AC line running REALLY close to it... That's why it's a PITA

Darned AutoZone flockers don't know spit!!! I had to resort to going to Nissan for the gasket, after they got me the gasket for the VG (your car, btw..) on three occasions!
