J30 is kind of on it's own.

The closest Infiniti model to the max is the I30, and it came out in the time circa the 4th gen max.

You might try some of the retailers listed arou this site, but I don't believe the J30 was intended for performance tuning. Would be nice to see one with ground effects, cat back, etc..

Happy hunting.

The Infiniti J-30 is an interesting beast. It's rear wheel drive, you know! It has the base 300ZX engine. I think the chassis is from some rear-drive Japanese-only sedan (Skyline sedan?) The chassis might be related to Skyline and the 300ZX. Great car! It's no performance car, though, as it's rather slow, despite 300ZX engine. 0-60 around 10 seconds, I think.

The Infiniti I-30, while it's J-30's successor in marketing point of view, is nowhere close to J-30 technically. It's really a spruced-up Maxima, same exact chassis & engine, and is front wheel drive. The new G-35 is the J-30's true successor, as it's based on lengthened 350Z chassis, and is rear wheel drive.

For engine stuff, I'd think non-turbo 300ZX engine parts ought to fit the J-30, though maybe not.

The J30 is based on the Z32 300ZX chassis and nonturbo engine. www.freshalloy.com has some forums for Infiniti vehicles and the 300ZX so they should know what parts fit your car. There isn't any real similarity between the J30 and 3rd or 4th gen maxima as others have said before me so people on an Infiniti forum and maybe a 300ZX forum would be of better help.

I always loved the J30, a really beautiful car...and it would make a hell of a sleeper if it was modified...

Doesn't the J30 share common parts with the 4th gen Maxima? I heard that they had some interchangable parts, such as the front passenger doors and some of the window glass. I see quite a few J's down here in Philly, and I have occasionally mistaken them for a 4th gen Max from a distance (especially when that round rear end isn't in view). The J30 did have a RWD version of the VG engine, but why so much more HP than in the VG Maxima (210 vs 160, right)?

According to Nissan 3rd gen Maximas have a chassis with the code name "J-30". That may be the reason why he was directed here. I was told that if you were to strip the body panels off the exterior and change take off the roof the 3rd Gen and the J30 were pretty much the same. J30s came with the same engine as the Non-Turbo 300Z. They look the same but i'm not sure if the HP is the same. I know of a guy who has a J30 with a real dual exhaust that sounds like a Z28 with a flowmaster exhaust.

The J30 has the 222hp VG30DE from the Z32 300ZX NA while we have the VG30E from the older Z31 300ZX NA. The Maxima/Z31 version is SOHC and the J30/Z32 version is DOHC, that's where the power difference comes from.
