keypad
I need some help cuz for some reason my drivers side door keypad is failing and it's worked fine until we got a cold snap down here in FL I was wondering if the weather has something to do with it. The weird thing is that the passsenger side door works and if I use that to lock/unlock the doors, windows, or trunk then I am able to use the drivers side I don't have any clue what could be causing this but I do know that it's not good. Thanx in advance and if there is a previous thread on this I apologize, I'm at work and I don't have the time to do a search.

I'm thinking it could be that the keypad is warn out. Mine fails in cold weather but if you press it enough it works. If you look behind the keypad (with door panel off) you can see that all it is is a couple screws to replace. I was planning on replacing mine because some of the #'s are warn off

It's likely not a wire. I have posted this before but will again.
My keypad (driver's side) did the same thing and it took me forever to figure it out. It worked most of the time but when it got cold (but not always even then) it wouldn't work. Long diagnotic story - short:
One or more keys got a bit of water into them. When it got down below freeing, it turned to ice inside the button. This would make it so the button wouldn't work. In my case (and the most common case according to my dealer) the "start" button was the culprit.
The only reliable fix is to replace the whole keypad. Given the $$, I'd go to your local bone yard and pick one up.
Hope that helps!

Tick tock
I had a feeling that the pad itself. How much do you think it will cost to get a slightly used keypad, cuz I've been pressing it and it doesen't feel like it normally does, but THANNK YOU ALL FOR ALL THE HELP I REALLY APPRECIATE IT.
Yes, just the keypad in the door. See the instructions in the FAQ's on how to dismantel the door (under the problem window regulator info). Frankly, if I were doing it again, I'd also replace my window regulator too since the door's apart already.
Anyway, yes, just the keypad on the door that doesn't work right.
