Hey guys,

I wanted to get your opinion on something since you guys no the 3rd gen best. I wanted to know which car would do better in a race, a 1990 GXE auto 3rd gen, running stock, or an 86 SE 5-speed 2nd gen, pretty much stock, with the exception with the tranny, which is a 5-speed from an 89 third gen. Who would win? I'm not trying to start anything, but I had someone talking **** to me the other day, and I want to be sure that what I said is right. Remember the 2nd gen and the 3rd gen have the same motor, the only difference is the intake plenum. Both are stock, etc. Thanks in advance.

BTW, if anyone knows of where I can find a 92 SE 5-speed, in the Seattle area, I would greatly appreciate it.

Definitely the 5 speed. A 2nd gen Maxima SE 5spd runs 0-60 of about 8-8.5 seconds I believe? and a VG auto must be somewhere around 9.5-10 seconds.

I was getting about 8.6 0-60 on slight uphill grade. Course I ****ed off some neighbors doing it.....
