re-oiling K&N

ok...I know you soppose to clean the K&N filter if dirt and junk gets to the same level as the metal mesh. well I cleaned it already but I don't know how much oil I need to spray back on. I don't want to get it too wet...risking the chance of the oil being sucked into the intake and messing up my MAF. Any tips/advices on this? Thanks.

When I do mine I just run a bead of oil along each ridge. The oil will soak in. This is just what I do so it may not be right.

well the oil helps trap junk and dust. it come pre-oiled from the factory. After cleaning it needs a fresh application of filter oil. and thanks for the tip dudes.
