I noticed an interesting condition to my engine noise tonight that might shed some light on what it is. I already knew that the noise, which is a "valve chatter" type tick, sounds like it is coming right in the center of the engine in the front and rear... Exhaust manifolds perhaps? Tonight, while I was idling in a drive through the ticking began. Then, the very moment I began to drive off the ticking stopped. Could this help me determine if I'm looking at exhaust leak ticking, or VTC ticking, or whatever else on the VE likes to tick.
Comments? Anything else I should invesitage so you guys to come up with a verdict?
