tranny trouble this morning? need help

hi all,

Automatic Trans/93 GXE

so i am driving along this morning. temperature outside is around 3C. all of a sudden it seems the car slips out of gear and gradually slows down. when i press the accelerator, the rpms go up but no movement. i pulled into a driveway, shut off then switch on again, no probs. i put the car in reverse, but the gear never engages, so i let it roll out backwards. i put it in drive (D) and i pull off just fine, however when it is time for the car to change gear the same thing happens.

i checked my tranny fluid and i must say it is a tad low, and i plan to top it up.

the current situation is:

1. No reverse gear (R)
2. car doesn't go into second gear when in Drive (D)

what u guys think? tranny gone? or small mechanical fix? or just fluid?

any tips will be helpful...

thanks

supa

I had the exact problem, no reverse gear at all...when you're in drive with overdrive enabled, it wouldn't switch into overdrive so i'm limited to around 30mph...if overdrive was off, i could drive as fast as i want to bed. either way, tranny is being rebuilt goodluck to you
