rpms fluctuate

whn i'm going about 50mph, my rpms will suddenly jump up 200 for a second or two and then go back down. it jumps ever few minutes. it doesn't feel like a normal thing. could this be a fuel injector problem? i'm at 114k now

have you had a tranny rebuild? sounds like it might be slipping. what is the rpm at when you're going 50mph? my car does that every now and then and i have about 40K mi on a rebuilt tranny.

Just to add. You may want to see if it happens in a certain gear. If you are cruising at 50 when it happens. You should be in 4th gear. Try driving around for a little while with overdrive off. If it doesn happen, you may have confirmed that your Tranny has issues.
