Friday at the shop went something like this....not much was done since Andy was busy with other customer cars but here is what got done and I forgot my camera so no pics sorry. The new plugs were put in, the PCV on the JDM motor was much better and looked good so we left it. The oil pans were transferred. The air condtioner compressor was transferred and the belts on both motors are horrible and I said to forget about it since you will be getting a pulley soon. I called you about the motor mounts. Then the engine was pushed outside and sprayed with cleaner all over the damn thing and then hosed....looks very clean. The flywheel was put on with torque specs and the clutch went on followed by the pressure plate being torqued onto it also. It got late with all the work and tomorrow morning it should be going in. So far so and it should be done by Sunday.

I would be a little concerned they arent using fender covers when working on your car. Especially with the new paint job.

Glad, you are happy. I test drove it and you could notice the 200,000 mile engine was tired. Now with this new engine it feels great. I did a 2nd gear pull and it pulled.

Today the kid with the supercharged M3 hydro-locked his motor, be very careful with that PR CAI, especially with a new engine that would suck. Also drive it as much as you can, you have 6 months warranty and if any problems are going to show up they will be during that time hopefully. Enjoy the ride bro and I'll probably head up this weekend for some hero time.

swap was not bad at all, the only thing I see good about a JDM motor is the fact of low mileage. The cam shaft sensor has to be changed or else it won't start.

Congrats! When I put in my 60,000 miler motor that was run on semi-synthetic, it pulled like monster compared to my old varnished up 145k motor. It's probably because your motor is "tighter" than your old worn out one. I bet it warms up WAY faster too. ie.. gets to operating temp within about 1.5 miles or so.

yep, and everything just seems to work smoother now. I feel a huge increse in power, I wish I would have dynoed before but it would have been hard with the clutch messed up. Im sure the Y pipe makes a big diff. and also the Flywheel ( Thanks Matt ) if anyone is considering buying one I say go for it. I can't wait till I get the UDP in it.

as far as price I paid around $1200 for the engine ( I picked it up and delivered it ) and $800 for the labor just for the swap and installing the parts.

you mean 5spd swap... when you get another 2k then lets talk about jdm, you are not to talk about jdm'ing your max,the only way you can use jdm is not to include your max, jay's max is ok,

You guys and JDM motors, best thing to do first would be performing a compression test to see where your motor stands condition wise.
