On my 3rd gen the passenger door wont open, theres something wrong with the latch, it wont open from inside or out, the door lock works, and the latches on the inside and outside handles are connected cause when i pull up on them I see the lock **** itself sorta more, so it much be a problem with the thing that releases the lock mechanism where it hooks to the frame of car.......the problem is I cant get the interior panel off cause the door wont open!!! any idea????? thanks..

Roll down the window on that side, or learn how to crawl over the seats.

I'm thinking it may be possible to remove the black switch plate on the door and get it open from there.. good luck.

Since its been 3 days and nobody had any ideas, besides all the ones I already tried and posted too, Now that I have fixed it, I will explain how to do it becasue maybe someone else will have this happen and want some advise that will work.....First off the interior panel doesnt just come off if the door wont open, ever notice there are 2 screws that CANNOT be accessed when the door is shut, not to mention that the rest of the panel is pretty much jammed between the pillar are floor area when the door is closed, theres nothing you can reach thru the black removable switch plate, unless the problem is your interior handle is disconnected from the rod (in that case your door would open with the exterior handle)....First remove everything from the panel possible, loosen interior pillar molding, lift interior door panel up and over the inside lock ****, it can be pryed away enof to get your hand donw in there....anyways, I ended up screwing with the latch for a while....finally it opened, there wasnt even anything wrong with it, I have no idea why it was stuck.....the car just likes attention.....so now its fine...the latch wasnt working ...I suspect somebody probably tried to open the door at the same time that it was unlocking with the power locks and it just happen to jam up like this,....one of those one in a million kinda things....anyways.....at least the door opens now, I was getting sick of people having to climb over my seats or thru the window....haha
