New Problem...

Ok, I checked the old forums and couldnt find anything direct to my problem. When I roll my passenger side window down it works great. But my problem is when Im trying to roll the window up. I will push on the switch on the drivers side and passenger side till Im blue in the finger! When my window does decide to move it will go up a few inches and then I will have to click for another 25 minutes to get more movement out of it. Both of the switchs work with the rolling down part but the up part is where they arent working. If someone could give me a few tips on what is going on I would really appreciate it!

it sounds to me like your window regulator is going bad. I just replaced one of mine last weekend (very easy to do).

Since it does the same thing from either switch, it is very probable that you need a new regulator.

There is an excellent write up in the 3rd gen FAQs (under craig's page) on how to replace your regulator. That is the problem with Maxima windows about 90 percent of the time.

You can get the part from Courtesy Nissan or off of ebay for around $60.

So would you suggest me get it checked out or just go out and get a regulator? Do you suggest a used or new one or does it matter?

put it this way, I knew mine was going to quit at some point and when it finally did the window just went down on its own! So go ahead and get a new one from courtesy nissan and replace it. Also make sure that you lube up the track so that it doesn't stick up again.

I got em brand new $45 your cost + shipping
anyone of em except the rear right (don't know why but they charge me more on that one)
They are an aftermarket part but they work perfectly. I installed both rears on my max.

Hey, check your switch first. When I first go my SE, the front passenger window did the same thing: it would go down, but it would not go up with either switch. Since the rear and the front passenger door switches are the same, I just temp installed the rear switch in the front passenger door. Success! A new switch from U-Wrench-It=$3.00. Give that a shot first. Real easy and simple. If it does the same thing with the other switch, then you definitly know it is the regulator--which I had to replace on the driver's rear of the same car.

$0.02.

hardly what i'd call horrible. now if you had an 89-91 max then I'd have horrible news for you but you don't so don't sweat it. Replacing the regs will be pretty easy when the time comes
