aftermarket exhausts for a 91 SE?

I do need a new muffler for this car, but don't want to settle for a plain jane Midas one. I was thinking about an Apexi N1 that is a universal fit $165, or a Greddy SP cat back which is like $500. Is there any other exhausts out for the 89-94 SEs? Any input would be appreciated.

i might be selling mine soon. it's way too loud for my exhaust. it's full 2.5 inch all of the way back to the muffler. pretty loud, even with the turbo on there.

Hey artic. What year/model u got?

I'm running a 92 SE VE auto with no muffler (and no mods) with just a 2.5" muffler shop special pipe and it's quiet enough for me

I bought a 91 SE 5spd. I have a Greddy EVO cat-back on my RSX, sounds truly sweet, not buzzy. I was wondering if anyone has heard an Apexi on the maxima V6s before? My name means Arctic Blue Pearl RSX Type-S ~ Arctic DC5(chassis code for RSX). This is going to be my daily driver. I have a lot of mods in the RSX

those are nice cars. there's a guy in know back indiana with one and it's sweet. non type s though. his awesome car, however, is a mitsubishi mirage converted to an Evo 6.5! R1 blue... it kicks so much ***!!! should be done really soon.

internetautomar, how much for the 14835
magnaflow muffler? It's the 5"x8" oval body race series with 3 inch diameter inlet and 4 inch tip.

Ok, I am interested in the model #14805 dual tip. How much for that one if you have it in stock? Will this 2.25" inlet fit for the factory exhaust piping?

If ths outlet is a 2.25" and thats what stock is, it should go fine shouldn't it? If it is, I will be dropping you an e-mail to get this thing ordered unless I change my mind on the model # magnaflow I want. Thanks.

The INLET is 2.25" but the muffler is significantly shorter than the stock one.
the stock muffler is 24" this muffler is 14"

yeah, when i had stock exhaust it sounded awesome. but now that i have straight exhaust all of the way back it's pretty loud. it sounds like he doesn't want to do anything too major so a magnaflow on his stock exhaust system will sound pretty sweet. man, you are bitter. what did I ever do to you that makes you always bust my chops?

lol, yeah... i guess you do.

and you are right. I should have been a bit more clear in my first post saying that it sounds good with stock exhaust.

now that i think of it, the exhaust wasn't fully stock. they pretty much did a catback with no resonator. so i had stock y-pipe to cat, then custom 2.25 back to the muffler. my friends said it sounded like a V8 when i would stomp on it. this was when they were outside of the car. inside it's not that loud at all and there is hardly any droning. i really liked it. now, with 2.5 inch piping it is really loud. there is nothing in the way though. i just have the vg30et manifolds but where the turbo bolts on to stock is welded up. then i have a custom crossover pipe to the turbo then 2.5 all of the way back to the muffler. very loud. hopefully 3 inch piping will quiet it down.

Can you give me a price for the model number: 14815 and 14816. I have to look at the bumper opening again before I decide on 3" or 3.5" dual tips.

I did take measurements of the existing muffler thats on there now. the body is 15" and the tips come out about 9". So I think this muffler should fit fine on there. The muffler shop might have to extend the factory piping though.

Well, I finally have pics taken of the Magnaflow muffler. It has a deep sound to it, no ricey, buzzy sound. After 3k rpms, all you hear is the engine, so thats a good thing. Here are some pics:

rear shot:

close up:

side view, doesn't stick out too far:

two brothers, ones adopted though and they are 11 years apart.
