Almost done, I just need to do alittle more welding, and then they need to be painted. I think they will be going out this weekend, aside from paint, I dont see why they wouldn't.

Big thanks to Jeff92se for letting us use his welder

One thing though, since John postponed his trip back up here from this weekend to next because of scheudle conflicts, they wont be going out this weekend. Right now they are all sitting on my work bench

maximum3rdgen, I believe I have your intake right now, lol. John left it for me so I could use it as a model to build the others from. If I can get a 3" hole saw I'll try to make some MAF adapters too.

Umm i ordered a complete kit, does this include a maf adapter? Isnt the maf adaptor used to connect the intake to the engine?

Jared, Rey was talking about needing Dremel discs for cutting the hole in the fender, not building MAF adapters

There are 5 unpainted and 1 painted VG tubes in my garage. Not the full CAI, but just from the throttle body neck to the MAF. John was going to pick them up last weekend but ran into some trouble so he should be up this weekend. I'm not going to mail them out because I dont want to be responsible for anything getting lost (even fully insured and all of that), and really it isn't my responsiblity to mail them (I will if John/someone gives me money to, and John tells me to, but I'd prefer not to).

I'm not sure what he is planning. The only reason why I have the intakes was because John was saying with me while Jeff let him borrow his welder. John had to go back home and he didn't have them all done yet so he asked me to finish them up. He should be coming up this weekend to pick them up, and really only to pick them up. This weekend I am helping a friend put a Fidanza/ACT on his car and that is my first priority since he is coming in from out of town and will need his car to get home to go back to work after the weekend.

I have been hounding John with these exact same questions for a while now. He does know exactly what he owes each of you. I'll try to get a list from him, it's just he isn't online very much so that makes it hard.

Also guys, I think he wants to grind down the welds so the pipes look clean and smooth. The painted one I have has the welds filed down. I started working on it, but with out a vice and just using a hand file, I think I'll leave it to John, lol. I dunno, maybe I'll try to use some sanding drums on my die grinder to get it smooth. I'm also out of town right now guys, so I can't do anything with them right now.

Just an idea. If you guys can accept them unpainted, it might speed things up just a tad. I know you paid for a painted piece but at this point, I'd take an unpainted one and paint it myself.

i'd take an unpainted one only if it was prepped to paint.

Personally I'd take it bare and have it powered coated. I'd be more concerned about getting the parts asap than what they do for "prep".

i'm saying that the pipes need to have any detritus, phlegm, dross, all smoothed out from the welds. as far as actual wet sanding and all of that, no. i'd take them unpainted in that case.

if it is a matter of true hopelessness and further pain, true lack of resources and time and whatever this is all about, then f*ck it >>> if the pipes are welded, ready to function, unpainted, but rough, then what the hel... send them. i can use a grinder and sand them down myself.

is this what you mean?

From what I saw, the pipes were welded pretty nice. My welder uses argon/co2 so the welds are decent(John is pretty good anyway) and there is minimal splatter/slag. If it would speed things up a little, consider just taking them they way they are. Because they would only need minimal prep anyway.
