wierd idle...

OK maybe someone here knows about wtf is going on in my car.. the egnine idles normal.. then it starts jumping from 1000 to 2300 rpms...
and wont stop doing this unless your actually moving (only does it in park and nuetral) when your driving it runs great power and everything..
but when I turn off the car it smells like gas... flooded in the engine.. like if it was carbed.. maybe someone could give me an idea of whats going on A mechanic told me I need a new timing belt... tune up.. and a o2 sensor.. but I watched him mess with the idle air control valve.. *lost* any tips would be great thanks!

You ARE due for a timing belt based on mileage.
as well as everything else he mentioned.
But chances are those are not related to your erratic idling.
Startt with the maintenance items then see if the problem either changes or goes away.

I replaced the vac line that goes to the iacv... seems to have cured some of the problem.. anyone know how to adjust that thing.. seems like it's sucking to much air... cause when I squeeze the line it idles normal

can an engine have too much air? You should try to adjust your idling throttle.
