um... everytime I've seen a car with cut springs, its handling is horrible. It bounces around way too much. The struts aren't designed for the lowered springs either so they can't control the bounce and the increased stiffness.

If you're going to lower your ride, you're better off getting professional lowering springs and get matching struts / shocks.

I did the professional way on a 1992 mustang gt i used to have. H&R springs (lowerd 1 1/4 inch) and then tokico struts and shocks. It did really well and I loved it. It handled really well and wasn't too low for the snow in MI, which you might want to consider up in Canada. Cost was around $700 if I remember right.

Do not cut springs. You will regret it and it's dangerous. Welcome from Quebec also!

Don't do it cuz then u'll really regret it just like Jeff92se said.

there is no coilovers for our maxima's and the coilovers for the '95+ maxima's won't fit either at least to my knowledge.

I've seen maxima's around where I live and they cut the springs and the handling and control is terrible and it bounces like a bat out of hell. so don't do it cuz you will really hurt ur maxima.

Didn't I watch a show recently that said Montreal had some of the WORST roads in all of Canada?

I don't think you want to be cutting your springs. The place where you cut it won't sit properly on the perch anyway.

Hmmmm.. I wonder who that might be. Do I get any guesses?

Anyways, yeah don't cut your springs. I just did my suspension last week with the Eibachs / KYB combo and it only cost me about $440. Make it a learning experience.

Do not cut your springs. It will destroy your stock shocks/struts since they aren't designed for that extra load. Cut springs are for ghetto ricers.

Just save your money and do it right. You will regret it, otherwise.

Maybe you should just get new Intrax or ST springs and new struts and see how you like it. You will probably like the handling so much that you will forgot about how you wanted to be an inch or two lower.

No, no... I meant like how some guy starts an avalanche because he's yelling too loud and his buddy is standing there staring at this wall of snow coming down on them and he just whistles and says, "Oh boy, now you've done it...."

Meet?!? What meet? I really should register at NWN someday... I don't read or visit on a regular basis. No, in all likelihood I won't be able to attend. If I'm not working all the time, I really have work to do on my car. Thanks for asking though.

If you want three inch's of drop man it's gunna be rough to get it and rough to drive but Me being me It will look good. If your gunna cut spring's try and get your hand's on some intrax's to cut. Or Eibach's because at least than the will be stiffer and handle it a little better becuase you will only be cutting and inch. Just my 2 cents

I cut my spring on my max and it didn't handle bad or bounce but I def. wouldn't do it again. I had problems w/ the spring and strut moutn popping while turning. Definately dangerous...even though I drove aroudn like that for about 2 1/2 years. I was just about to buy some spring the day b4 I totalled my car too. you wouldn't get 3in. from cutting off one coil either. but yeah, I definately would recommend against cutting your springs. I've learned from experience

I cut my OEM's but I would strongly recommend to not cut any aftermarket springs. If you do go w/ Intrax or Sprint, you'll realize that you dont need your max any lower. Go around and look for members that have these springs. Here are a few links:

Trust me you do not want to go lower than intrax for a driver.

I have no fender gap (tires are in the fender slightly).

One of the last times I drove my car there was a very small dead squirrel in the road. I figured I would center it and clear (car coming the other way)...wrong it hit my motor crossmember or Y pipe...cant remember (blood all under my car yuck)...any lower and you would be scraping the ground.

Now if you want the slammed look but still want to be able to drive then go with hydrolics or air. I have seen a couple of air equiped cars on cardomain and they arent as low as shaved max so if you want to slam it go hydrolics.

well I mean compare this which is air:

to yours (on 18s since you cant go that low on the 20s...yet):

Its pretty obvious whos is lower. Not saying that the air isnt low but its not SLAMMED.
