Have you tried to move your steering wheel. Sometimes my car won't crank if the steering wheel is in a certain position so I have to move it probably 1/2 inch and then it'll crank up.

Ok, I don't know why you e-mailed me about this, but I will reply here. No, the 90 GXE doesnt have different wiring than the 93GXE. HOWEVER. You are missing some facts.

1. You say you have a 90 GXE 5-Speed? Doesn't exist, where did you get it? Was it converted from auto, or is it perhaps a SE?
2. You didnt say what was wrong with the old engine? Are you SURE the problem was the engine, or was it perhaps some wiring? I need some more history on the car.
3. You say in the e-mail that there is no spark coming from the spark plugs, and the engine doesnt turn. Well, why dont you fix the starter and spark plugs, how else is that engine going to run?

What else can you tell me? Who did this swap? How do you know the "new" engine is good? Compress/leak down test? ETC

It could be soo many different things. If it is not even cranking I would start with the starter and battery first, fairly easy to remove and get tested.
