Engine Scraping Noises
Well my car has 245,000+ miles on it. Its a 93 Maxima. It still runs fine but whenever the engine is in (D) and its going at 2000-3000 rpms. it makes a scraping noise. It doesnt make that noise when i throw it into Neutral and rev it at 2000-3000 rpms.
Is it the exhaust? or what? lol
Dont feel like spending too much money on fixing it so if it costs too much, i'll get a new car....... ehh. perhaps the integra type-r? heh

Uh OH!
I "had" a 92 240 that did the same thing, except it started on me while I was halfway home from skool on the freeway.
Anyway, I would describe my noise as a griding sound. The problem seemed to be that the transmission (auto) was not engaging into 2nd gear. I would have to rev and release to force the A/tranny shift into 3rd. Another thing was that it wouldn't go into overdrive either.
So, in other words, my tranny gave out, and I donated it for a $4700 tax write off, not much but whatever.
Good Luck
