Coming home from work, when I seem to get most of my races, I come up to a stop light with a ZX2. I look over, some older guy, 30+, yawning. I really have wanted to race one of these for a while, I hear theyre quick, I hear theyre not...blah blah blah. The light is bout to turn green, I push in the clutch, let off the gas and I start inching forward. So does he. Im thinking whatever. Light turns green and he takes off. I gets ahead of me, front bumper to door handle when I floor it. I keep up with him and pull on him alittle. I shift into 2nd (wasnt a great shift, I had the clutch in way to much, Ill be the first to admit it was bad.) I slam it into 2nd and my hand slips off. Hmmm. 2nd he pulls on me some more. Front bumper to back bumper. I start gaining some at the end of 2nd when I shift into 3rd. My hand slips off again and I dont get all the way into 3rd and I end up grinding gears. Ouch. I couldnt tell if it was a 5spd or not. My guess it was.

Chalk one up for the old guy in the ZX2, I guess.

I know I should have walked all over this one. I learned I need to practice racing some more and that I need to change my shifter.

dont even worry about it, like you said before, you need more pratice in 5 speed racing. i am sure once you get the hang of it, you been romping all over the zx2's.

what????

my friend's sister has a 99 black zx2 and i raced him the other day in my Automatic max. we started at about a 30 mph roll and i inched on him all the way to 125 and won by at least 3 car lengths. i guess the automatic zx2s are a lot slower or something.......btw i had 2 people with me while he was alone

I think the autos are alot slower.

He definately had the advantage. He probably launched a lot better than I did. He was ready to race too. He caught me off gaurd when we started to pass me.

Given the chance again, Im sure I could and would take him.
