What is this Maxima worth?

What do you think a fair price is for a Maxima in this condition? I live in Pittsburgh and will check out this car for my brother. Supposing it passes with flying colors, as I expect it will (any Maxima, meticulously cared for, as this one seems to have been, can be like new even at 100,000 miles), what price would you be willing to bid? It blue books in the $6k's, but that usually means fair condition, not above-average or immaculate.
Any help? I know this is tough considering you can't drive it or see the engine. I'm just looking for *help*, not end-all be-all answers.
Thanks so much,
Hal

i wouldnt be surprised if that went for $7k plus. it depends on how much you want a max. i'd pay about that much, it seems to be in very good condition. if the tranny is bad though knock $1-2k off it.

This car looks great. In the Pittsburgh area, be sure to check the chassis for rust, especially behind the front wheel well.
This car seems to be a fair deal at $4-6k. The dealer seems to be asking a fair price.
If the car has been well taken care of, there is no reason to worry about 100k miles.
Good luck.

car looks just like mine!, just a little red though. My interior looked exactly like that before I customized it. I have the same cloth too. That is definitely a 91. I dont think that pre 91 max's had ABS, and the Bose HU looks post 91. (they looked a little different on older models). Rims are not shiny though (89-90). Nice ride, good luck

My bro ended up getting the car for $5801, and picks it up this Friday. I think he'll be pleased.
One note: the odometer was WAY off, but the seller said the wheels were the same size, because he used the same tires. I went one mile in 50 seconds (roughly), which is ~72mph. I was in cruise at 90. That's 20 percent. Can speedometers be recalibrated? Are the speedometer and the odometer linked; do they work using the same mechanism? If so, the mileage is actually well under what's posted, 20% for however long the speedometer's been off (as long as it's been off the same amount the whole time), right?
