VTCs again

I have just pulled the forward facing head off to find a badly burned exaust valve. I am taking the head to have the valve seat resurfaced and will replace the valve--no problem.

I have been hearing the rattling from my engine for about a year. While I had the engine apart I decided to investigate this as well. From what I read here I have decide that it is the VTC sprocket or sprockets. The question is does a bad VTC sprocket lock-up as in not shift, shift too easily, or not shift at the right time? I have only reached one of the sprockets and it will shift on the cam with moderate pressure. The sound or rattling I heard sounded like it was coming from the rear head which I have not and would rather not remove. If the front VTC sprocket is ok and the rear one is bad I will swap them so that the bad one is on the front and easier to remove. Then I can deal with it later after I harvest my money tree. I have heard here and on maxfaq that there is a bulliten from nissan about this, do any of you have it? I think that would probably answer all of the above questions.

I understand that nissan had this common problem fixed in the 94 model. Can the 94 VTC sprockets be used in a 92 motor?

Finally, I hear alot about CAI or Pop chargers and Y-pipes but nothing about throttle bodies and headers. Is this because the stock components are good enough or are these not available?

Thank you
