Hey guys... I am kinda new to the nissan so I need a bit of help.. We have a 89 that we got pretty cheap because the alarm went off and the car wouldnt crank anymore... We reset the alarm..and the car ran fine for about a week... We locked the doors..the alarm went off when we opened em back up....we reset it and figured out that the passengers side door was sticking ..which was the cause for the alarm going off.. anyway..after the alarm went off.. we started having trouble with the fuel... it started flooding and was hard to crank and then quit cranking all together.. we bought new plugs for it and changed the coil and dis. cap.. then we figured maybe it was the brain.. when we got to the ECU we realized that someone had fiddled with it already and sent the screw way past the stop point..it just turns and turns...so we knew then we had to replace it.. what I need to know is... can I use a 94 maxima ECU in my 89? and if so should I use the tranny box on top of use my old one? Any help would be appreciated..thanks

The 89 ECU is different that the 90-94 ECU. I only know because I had JWT reprogram an ECU out of my 89 for my 91. They said the 89 ECU wouldnt work on the 91 without reprograming, but didnt say why.
